About Conquest.io
Conquest.io is a pixel-art strategy game where you start as a real country, with its real borders, and set out to conquer the world. Pick any of 183 nations, grow your economy and army, and push your front lines across the map against computer-controlled rivals. Rule 50%, 60% or 75% of the land and victory is yours. Prefer history? Lead Rome, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan and four more empires in campaigns with their real historical borders.
How to Play Conquest.io
Conquest.io is a real-time strategy game. Click a neighbouring country to attack it, and your troops push forward along the whole shared border until they run out. Every game starts with a 25-second ceasefire, so build first and march second.
Game Modes
World Conquest: play any of 183 countries on the World map, or on the Europe, Americas or Asia maps. Every nation has a difficulty rating from one to five stars.
History: seven campaigns from 336 BC to 1805: Alexander the Great, Rise of Rome, Genghis Khan, Fall of Constantinople, Conquest of the New World, The British Empire and Napoleon. Each has its own victory goal, like making the Aztec and Inca empires capitulate.
Daily Challenge: a new nation and a new twist every day. Win to build a streak.
Armies and Attacks
The Attack Force slider sets how much of your army goes into each attack. The Army/Economy slider trades troops for gold.
Troops regrow fastest when you are below your cap, so don't throw everything at once.
Click an enemy coast you don't border to launch a naval invasion.
The event panel tracks your attacks and the ones coming at you. You can retreat an attack, but you lose 25% of those troops.
Capture an enemy capital to wipe out a third of its army. If a nation has lost most of its land when its capital falls, it capitulates and all of its land becomes yours.
Diplomacy
Right-click a country (long-press on mobile) to open its action menu: attack, send ships, propose an alliance, offer peace or send a gift. Allies can send each other gold and troops. Breaking an alliance is a betrayal: the betrayed nation and its allies will turn against you. Hover over a country to see whether it is Friendly, Neutral or Hostile toward you. Alliance and peace offers from other nations pop up on screen for you to accept or decline.
Buildings and Units
Buildings change with the era, from Roman markets to modern factories. In the modern world you can build:
City: raises your population cap so your army and treasury grow larger
Factory: produces gold every second
Army Base: recruits troops faster and launches Airstrikes
Bunker: land inside its circle is far harder to take, and your border there turns stone grey
Research Lab: produces research points
Port: more and faster ships for naval invasions, plus trade gold
Missile Silo: launches Cruise Missiles and nuclear weapons
Air Defense: shoots down missiles and airstrikes aimed near it
Build on top of a building to upgrade it, up to level 5.
Strikes and Ruins
Cruise Missile: hits any target on the map
Airstrike: a bomber from your Army Base drops a line of six bombs (unlocks at Rocketry I)
Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs: wipe out huge areas and leave the land irradiated (Rocketry II and IV)
Older eras fight with catapults, trebuchets and cannons that have a limited range
Every explosion kills troops, wrecks buildings and blasts the land into ruins that belong to no one. Armies can't march through ruins, so a neighbouring nation has to click them to reclaim them, which takes 5 to 15 seconds. Computer nations reclaim their ruins within a second or two, so be quick.
Research
Spend research points on six tracks, each up to level 5: weapons, defences, logistics, economy, population and artillery.
Progress
Earn XP to climb ten ranks from Recruit to Emperor, collect 19 medals and keep up a daily login streak. Your game autosaves, so you can always continue later.
Tips
Use the ceasefire to build Cities and Factories before the first war.
Put a Bunker on the border you can't afford to lose.
Keep allies happy with gifts. A friendly neighbour is one less front to defend.
Bomb enemy capitals and forts before you attack, then reclaim the ruins before your enemy does.
